How to Plan Your First 30 Days of Community Content

The hardest part of a new community isn't starting it — it's what comes after week one. The welcome buzz fades, the calendar looks empty, and the daily question creeps in: what do I post today? A simple 30-day plan takes that pressure off. It gives you a rhythm to follow and gives your members a reason to keep showing up. Here's a starter month you can adapt to your own world.

Before you post anything

Three quick decisions make the whole month easier:

  • Pick one anchor. Choose a single recurring moment — one weekly live, one weekly post — that your community can count on. Everything else is a bonus.
  • Name the promise. Be able to say in one sentence what members get by being here. It keeps every post on-theme.
  • Keep it in one home. Publish where your community actually lives — a branded space you own — so nothing gets lost across scattered apps.

Week 1 — Set the tone

The first week is about making people feel they've arrived somewhere real, not an empty room.

  • A short welcome video — who you are, who this is for, and what to expect.
  • A pinned “start here” post with the basics.
  • One easy icebreaker question so members make their first comment.

Week 2 — Show up live

Now add the connection only live video creates.

  • Your first live Q&A or a short live workshop.
  • A behind-the-scenes post or clip between sessions.
  • An invitation for members to introduce themselves to each other.

Week 3 — Deliver real value

Give people something they can use, and make it last.

  • A teaching session or lesson on your core topic.
  • Turn that live into a replay plus one or two short clips.
  • A follow-up post that answers the best question from the session.

Week 4 — Bring the community in

Close the month by shifting some of the spotlight onto your members.

  • A member spotlight or a “share your win” thread.
  • A quick poll to shape next month's topics.
  • A short recap and a preview of what's coming.

Make it repeatable

Notice the shape: welcome, connect, teach, involve — then repeat. You don't need a new idea every day; you need a rhythm you can sustain. Reuse everything — one live becomes a replay, a clip, and a post — and let your community's questions fill in the gaps.

Consistency beats volume. A small plan you actually follow will always outperform a big one you abandon.

Run this month, watch what your community responds to, and lean into it for month two. The plan is a starting point — your members will show you the rest.
